| Missions & Outreach |
The Mission and Outreach of St. Peter's in the Woods works in various ways in our own community, country and the world. We encourage and enable members of the congregation to help and serve others, and in doing so, experience what it truly means to live the Gospel.
You are invited to become an active partner in St. Peter's in the Woods Mission and Outreach programs. Committee members and volunteers contribute their time, talents and treasure to support a variety of community and global service programs.
Below are some of the programs and organizations that we work with. The Outreach & Mission Committee meets once a month after the 10:15 service. Please check the calendar for the next opportunity to be a part of something big!

WorldMissions
Episcopal Relief & Development-Working in partnership with the worldwide Church, ecumenical agencies and local organizations, Episcopal Relief & Development saves lives and strengthens communities around the world. ER&D reached more than 2 million people in over 40 countries last year. Rather than impose "one size fits all" solutions, Episcopal Relief & Development supports local, long-term initiatives that address poverty, hunger, disease, economic development and disaster response where the need is greatest. Partnership with the worldwide Church creates opportunities to serve communities in some of the most remote areas of the world, as well as in urban environments where extreme poverty persists. In many of these places, the Church is often one of the few institutions people trust and turn to for help. St. Peter's in the Woods support ER-D through fund raisers, personal financial gifts and support to those Dicoese in the United States who have been hit by natural disasters.
El Hogar School for Boys-El Hogar provides a loving home and education in Christian environment for abandoned, orphaned and hopelessly poor boys in Honduras. It consists of a home and school for boys through grade six, plus an agricultural farm/school and a technical school. The projects are funded entirely by donations. Every other year, members of St. Peter's in the Woods go on a mission trip to Honduras to help with special projects, meet the children we support and learn about new opportunities for growth and outreach.
Wycliffe Bible Translators-Wycliffe believes that God's Word should be accessible to all people in a language that speaks to their heart. Wycliffe has made great progress in Bible translation all around the world. To date, they have played a part in the translation of Bibles or New Testaments in 740 languages, representing more than 82 million people.
